2. They have real quality control — not just a QC stamp Look for suppliers who use CMM (coordinate measuring machines) or gear measuring instruments, and who can provide first article inspection reports. Photos of a finished product are not quality control.

3. They’ve made gears for your industry before Medical, automotive, office automation — each has different requirements. A gear manufacturer experienced in medical applications understands surface finish, biocompatibility, and traceability requirements. Ask for industry references.

4. They’re honest about MOQ and lead time Trustworthy suppliers give you real numbers. Typical production MOQ for custom plastic gears is 500–2,000 pcs, with lead times of 20–30 days. If a supplier promises 1,000 pcs in 5 days, ask how.
